Formerly the Manning School, the intention of the Greenwood Dale Trust for Nottingham Girls’ Academy was to create a modern educational establishment to cater for a total of 900 pupils. By carefully phasing the new works it was possible to replace the bulk of the existing teaching accommodation and refurbish the remaining buildings without significantly affecting the operation of the existing school. The main new teaching block is focused around a new central courtyard forming a social heart to the campus with the existing buildings and a new single storey reception building providing a reconfigured entrance to the school. FEA worked with Carillion to successfully deliver this school.
