Franklin Ellis Architects was established in 1993 by David Franklin and Andrew Ellis with a culture and ambition to provide the best possible design advice. Over the past 25 years, the practice has grown to employ over 40 staff and has delivered award-winning buildings across all major development sectors.

With offices in both Nottingham and Leicester, we are maintaining our position as a leading practice in the East Midlands. Matthew Branton, a founding member of Franklin Ellis Architects, is now managing partner and works with David Franklin, Andy Dowding, Ben Dudley and Joe Taylor in ensuring the firm maintains its strong position in the market.

Our ambitions include creating buildings that make a positive contribution to the local community in which they are located, bringing visions to life and continuing to develop new relationships with people who share our values, so that we can improve the work that we do and the projects we deliver.

What we do

We provide a range of specialist services for our vast client base with an emphasis on design. Our internal collaborative approach between different specialists allows us to deliver projects that excite our clients.

Architecture

Architecture is our core business. We have a broad range of expertise across many sectors and a motivated and professional team delivering high-quality developments throughout the UK.

Interiors

Our interior design team work in collaboration with our architects applying a holistic approach to projects across all sectors, bringing together our creative vision and expertise. The portfolio of our interiors team covers a wide range of design sectors including hospitality, commercial offices, schools and universities, and healthcare.

Visualisation

Our in-house visualisation department gives us the ability to provide photo-realistic images and virtual reality visualisations to communicate our designs effectively and to the highest quality for publishing.

BIM

Franklin Ellis have embraced BIM within our practice, having fully transitioned to Revit based systems and workflows. With a large investment in hardware, applications and training since 2012, we now have more than 30 Revit trained staff members.
