Urban styling and playful interiors make up the 244-bed Moxy Hotel and Residence Inn – a double-stacked hotel scheme in central Slough.

The Marriott branded hotels, situated in the city’s regeneration zone, offer a unique guest experience for both business and pleasure, with spaces to meet and relax and elegant and edgy rooms and suites.

Working closely with European hotel operator Cycas Hospitality, Franklin Ellis took the scheme from inception to completion, providing an integrated service of interior design, visualisation and architectural design, for Slough Urban Renewal.

At the 152-bed Moxy Hotel, our interiors team created a buzzy and vibrant place to stay, play and work; creating an urban hipster feel, with inspirational references taken from the iconic 1960s Thunderbirds series, which was filmed nearby.

The team created The Thunderbirds Lounge which is an Instagram-worthy space to relax and socialise with a stylish sixties interior with a cool modern twist.

At the 92-suite Residence Inn our interiors team cleverly connected elements of the interiors to reflect Slough’s railway heritage, and created a ‘home away from home’ feel for guests.

As well as the two hotels, the project also incorporated a 64-apartment building. The entire mixed-use development was delivered on budget and ahead of programme by Morgan Sindall, one of Britain’s leading construction companies.
