We’re thrilled to share the news that Nina Roberts-James and Luke Turner have been promoted to Associate Directors at Franklin Ellis. Their commitment, expertise, and leadership have had a lasting impact on both our practice and the many projects they’ve helped bring to life.
To mark the occasion, we caught up with Nina and Luke to reflect on their journeys so far—and to find out what this exciting next chapter means for them.
Nina Roberts-James
Nina plays a central role in leading our Interior Design team, contributing to a broad and dynamic portfolio across the hospitality, hotel, and workplace sectors.
She leads both stand-alone interiors projects and collaborates closely with the architectural team to deliver fully integrated schemes, playing a key role in expanding the company’s hospitality portfolio. Known for her practical creative vision and ability to build strong relationships with clients and contractors, Nina also has a sharp eye for identifying new opportunities to add value and innovation.
She has delivered exceptional schemes for leading hotel brands including Hilton and IHG. Notable recent projects include the eagerly anticipated Hotel Indigo Leeds, set to open this summer; the stylish new Brasserie Beau at Hotel Indigo Bath; and the refurbishment of Hilton’s DoubleTree Coventry Arena and Hampton by Hilton at Stansted Airport.
Over the past two years, Nina has helped shape and expand our Interior Design offering. Now, as Associate Director, she is focused on driving the team forward as we continue to grow and evolve this key part of our practice.

Luke Turner
Luke has played a leading role in the delivery of some of our most complex and high-profile projects. Known for his ability to work within and manage multidisciplinary teams, Luke balances technical expertise with a people-first approach to leadership.
As our Employee Representative Director on the Board of Trustees, Luke helps to shape a company culture that’s inclusive, collaborative, and true to our values. His commitment to our Employee-Owned Trust has been key to strengthening our workplace community.
Looking ahead, Luke is eager to deepen relationships with clients and help unlock new opportunities for the business. His strategic mindset and passion for excellence make him a vital part of our leadership team as we look to the future.
