Complete re-cladding of 11,000 square metres 1960’s offices and print-works to create a landmark building and provide the Leicester Mercury with a new thoroughly modern image in an area earmarked for regeneration as Leicester’s Commercial Quarter.

As part of the external re-cladding project, the client also wished to improve the public face of the building at ground floor level. By creating a modern, light reception and new fully glazed bistro and presentation space for the staff the space has been transformed from a previously very dark and uninviting space.

The design involved overcoming numerous level and structural obstacles to create an open plan space animated by a feature graphic wall and vibrant colours.
