The Derby Innovation Centre, now known as the iHub, forms the centrepiece of Infinity Park, a 250-acre technology cluster located close to Rolls-Royce’s civil aerospace headquarters between Chellaston and Sinfin, with connections provided by the T12 link road.

The design draws on Derby’s manufacturing heritage in trains, planes and automobiles, while reflecting the ambition for these industries to continue evolving through technology and innovation.

The iHub provides a range of lettable workshop, studio and office spaces for businesses within the technology and innovation sector. Public and shared areas support collaboration and open innovation, including demonstrator space, rapid prototyping facilities, meeting rooms and hospitality spaces.

GF Tomlinson leads the project consortium, with Franklin Ellis responsible for the architectural design and coordination of the wider project team. Building Information Modelling forms an integral part of the design and delivery process, supporting the project’s technical coordination and its achievement of a BREEAM ‘Very Good’ rating.
