New Walk Place was completed in 2018 following redevelopment of the former council office site in the centre of Leicester. The mixed use project included a 5000m² office building and an apartment building with 54 units, all set around a new landscaped public square.

This mixed-use redevelopment on the site of the former Leicester City Council New Walk Centre and the adjacent corner of Marlborough Street and Welford Road was subject to a limited competition and Franklin Ellis worked with the Sowden Group on the successful bid.

The main buildings are arranged over 5 above ground storeys and enclose a new public square which stitches together an important part of the Leicester City Centre, enhancing the local character and delivering a high quality and exciting combination of buildings and uses delivering activity throughout the day and into the evening.
