Hotel developers and operator Cycas Hospitality have just opened the first Staybridge Suites – Stratford City Hotel in London. Franklin Ellis were appointed by Westfield as executive architects and interior designers for the scheme. Located at Westfield Stratford City, the hotel sits above the shopping centre and enjoys fantastic views of the adjacent Olympic Park and the city skyline beyond.
The interior concept is designed to be contemporary whilst remaining homely and relaxing. The front of house includes a lounge area, 24 hour Pantry (groceries sales facility), a Dining Room, and an informal Hub Kitchen for breakfast and social gatherings. After relaxing in the intimate Den, guests can enjoy the skyline gym.
The construction programme was a challenging 18 months, during which time the construction team worked closely with the operator and Intercontinental Hotel Group (IHG) to develop the concept and to realise the innovative design. FEA used computer generated imaging for the interior and exterior of the scheme
Based on their extensive experience, contractors Westfield used a range of innovative construction techniques which successfully allowed the hotel to open ahead of schedule. The Staybridge Suites – Stratford City Hotel is part of a twin development with a Holiday Inn London – Stratford City Hotel also designed by FEA.
