Vicarage Road is a Code Level 5 Housing Development in Mickleover, Derby, and it’s the most environmentally friendly development Derwent Living has built to date. It consists of one three-bedroom house, two two-bedroom houses and four two-bedroom apartments.
The properties are equipped with a number of eco-technologies such as photovoltaic panels, solar hot water panels, rainwater harvesting and mechanical ventilation with heat recovery. The construction is innovative and highly thermally efficient. The most important features include thin joint blockwork walls with externally insulated render finish and triple glazed timber frame windows. The scheme meets Lifetime Homes Standards, enabling high levels of adaptation to suit the occupants’ changing needs.
The development was officially opened by film director Ken Loach, Derby North MP Chris Williamson and the Mayor of Derby Counsellor Les Allen.
The scheme features in a recent HCA newsletter for the Midlands region.
